Brain Mapping

Brain mapping is a technique used to understand the relationship between an object and its environment.  With Neurolucida, researchers can visualize and analyze:

• the distribution of neuronal somas in a specimen (cytoarchitectonics)
• the projection path of a neuron (cell mapping)
• the volume and area of a region or object such as a lesion or tumor

Brain Mapping can be done in 2D or in 3D, using serial sections depending on the experiment.
