Requirements Analyst and Quality Assurance Specialist

Description:

Seeking a requirements analyst and quality assurance specialist to assist in a web portal development project. The project aims to serve, display, and investigate biological research data on a web portal to drive the development of therapeutic neuromodulation devices that target neural circuitry of the autonomic nervous system. The position will entail working collaboratively with web portal developers, scientific researchers, and academics from various institutions to assure project requirements are executed on schedule and as designed.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project and product managers as well as technical staff to identify project requirements, create user stories with acceptance criteria, design and estimate timelines and costs, and facilitate reports 
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing activities   
  • Create, oversee, and execute testing plans in support of web portal release activities 
  • Writing, reviewing, and executing test cases 
  • Software product testing and reporting of flaws, failures or faults during development and maintenance phases of the software lifecycle
  • Develop a deep functional understanding of the application to better support software product testing
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues and develop solutions 
  • Creation and content development of user documentation
  • Generate and deliver work-around documentation for users as an interim solution prior to the release of the product fix
  • Assist in the creation of documentation, data spreadsheets, graphical representations, and reports
  • Assist in the creation of slide decks, webinars, and other materials to support the Communication Committee and Data Resource Center

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in a biological research setting, preferably in bench research
  • 1+ years of experience developing test plans, cases and scripts and performing unit, integration, system, and regression software testing in an Agile Scrum environment 
  • Understanding of the principles of system analysis and quality assurance
  • Ability to facilitate customer user acceptance testing and understanding of the basic principles of system analysis and quality assurance 
  • Experience documenting requirements in User Story format with clear Acceptance Criteria and facilitate customer user acceptance testing (UAT) 
  • Initiative and ability to work with other team leads to define project priorities and ensure that project leads and developers are executing in accordance with priorities
  • Ability to act as a liaison between testers, developers, clients, and other stakeholders during all phases of development 
  • Ability to diagnose and document technical problems
  • Attention to detail, clear communication, writing, and presentation skills 
  • Ability to learn and contribute quickly to project requirements
  • Ability to prioritize and organize efforts in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create data spreadsheets, graphs, and charts in Microsoft Office, GraphPad, and the Google Suite.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Experience working in Wrike or similar applications for project management, organization, and development tracking 
  • Experience working with databases and web-based applications
  • Experience with CMS platforms
  • Understand concepts and components of biological research, including topical knowledge for neuroscience
  • Experience with MBF Bioscience products 

Laboratory Analyst and Quality Assurance Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Perform exacting data collection for scientific studies as contracted by clients
  • Use state-of-the-art microscopy equipment to collect reliable and accurate data
  •  Assist in the creation of documentation, data spreadsheets, graphical representations, and reports
  • Play a key role in a team-based environment for software product testing and reporting of flaws, failures or faults during development and maintenance phases of software lifecycle
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues and develop solutions for customers while gaining an understanding of their scientific needs
  • Provide direct pre-sales demonstrations to potential customers
  • Assist in the creation of specifications and requirements documentation, create and maintain technical and procedure documentation 

Knowledge, Skills & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biological science or related field
  • Understanding of concepts and components of biological research
  • Ability to work and continually prioritize in an multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to diagnose, document, and resolve technical problems
  • Ability to create data spreadsheets, graphs, and charts in Microsoft Office, GraphPad
  • Attention to detail, clear communication, writing, and presentation skills 

Experience and skills desired in many of the following areas:

  • Microscopy operation, including brightfield, widefield, confocal
  • Ability to use a neuroanatomic atlas
  • Experience with application of stereological theory for data collection
  • Experience with neuron reconstruction
  • Experience with MBF Bioscience products
