Staff Scientist

Provide scientific expertise to MBF Bioscience customers and employees.  

Responsibilities 

• Assist with grant writing and submission toward funding new research and product development
• Write manuscripts for scientific journals to communicate MBF research and product capabilities
• Assist customers with experimental design and analysis
• Specify software and hardware solutions to meet customer needs
• Work effectively with MBF’s technical, scientific, business, and procurement decision makers to provide the best solution to the customer
• Develop expert level knowledge of MBF Bioscience software and instrumentation
• Provide scientific input for product development
• Assist in the operations of our contract research organization, MBF Labs

Staff Scientist – Imaging Specialist

Research and develop commercial scientific software applications in our Williston, Vermont office.

Responsibilities

• Design and create new products for MBF Bioscience's customers
• Perform software and algorithm development and feasibility research for new functions and features to be utilized in all current and future MBF software products
• Communicate algorithmic descriptions to other members of the R&D group in written and oral presentations
• Assist in the grant writing process for new grant submissions and product development
• Write manuscripts for scientific journals to communicate MBF product capabilities
• Create, maintain, and apply MBF coding standards
• Use good software development practices to write code that fulfills feature requirements, and is robust, and easily maintainable

Software Developer

Develop commercial scientific software in our web and/or desktop applications in our Williston, Vermont office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our current suite of applications
• Design and create new products for MBF Bioscience's customers
• Perform software and algorithm development and feasibility research for product development utilized in all current and future MBF software products
• Create, maintain, and apply MBF coding standards
• Integrate new hardware in MBF software products
• Work with Product Managers to determine the priority and schedule for software features and requirements
• Communicate algorithmic descriptions to other members of the R&D group in written and oral presentations
• Use good software development practices to write code that fulfills feature requirements, is robust, and easily maintainable

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with C++
• Web development, Qt, iOS or MFC experience a plus

Web Software Developer

Develop commercial scientific software in our web and/or desktop applications in our Williston, Vermont office.

Quality Assurance Technician

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in a team-based environment for software product testing and reporting of flaws, failures or faults during development and maintenance phases of software lifecycle
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues and develop solutions for customers while gaining an understanding of their scientific needs
• Provide direct pre-sales demonstrations to potential customers
• Assist in the creation of specifications and requirements documentation, create and maintain technical and procedure documentation 

Knowledge, Skills & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in biological science or related field
• Understanding of concepts and components of biological research
• Ability to work and continually prioritize in a multi-tasking environment
• Ability to diagnose, document, and resolve technical problems

Laboratory Analyst

Responsibilities

• Perform exacting data collection for scientific studies as contracted by clients
• Use state-of-the-art microscopy equipment to collect reliable and accurate data
• Assist in the creation of documentation, data spreadsheets, graphical representations, and reports

Knowledge, Skills & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in biological science or related field
• Understanding of concepts and components of biological research
• Ability to work and continually prioritize in an interrupt-driven environment
• Ability to diagnose, document, and resolve technical problems
• Ability to create data spreadsheets, graphs, and charts in Microsoft Office, GraphPad
• Experience and proficient skills in the following areas:
  - Microscopy operation, including brightfield, widefield, confocal
  - Ability to use a neuroanatomic atlas
  - Experience with application of stereological theory for data collection
  - Experience with neuron reconstruction

Technical Director, Interactive Media

Responsibilities

Duties: Work with engineers to develop technical design for new product development; use graphics applications and computer programs to design and publish interactive and multimedia products; utilize programming and web design to enhance search engine optimization and customer navigation; identify emergent communication media technologies, including computer applications, mobile apps and 3D product prototypes to increase market presence; utilize e-commerce tools; develop digital touchpoints, including microsites and websites for international users; produce, edit and manage digital content; test functionality of website; Research and present digital media analytics at strategy sessions; demonstrate understanding of technical and scientific concepts, and communicate such concepts in nontechnical terms.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Emergent or Interactive Media, Digital Communication, Computer graphics or closely related degree. Degree must have included coursework requiring knowledge of: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Processing, PHP, SQL, CMS, Advance Adobe Creative Suite, 2D/3D animation, 3D modeling, Interaction design, Web graphics, User Experience Design, Prototyping.

Salary:  $46,000 per year
