Tracing and detecting

For each image, you will use the Tracing panel to trace trees and detect spines.

You can't detect spines unless trees are already traced.

  1. To open the Tracing panel, click Tracing in the Workflow section of the ribbon.

  2. Trace the trees in the first image:

    1. Click Tree and select one of the three methods: smart manual, user-guided, or automatic.

    2. Optional: Edit the trees.

  3. Detect the spines:

    1. Click Spines and detect.

    2. Optional: Edit the spines.

  4. Place markers (optional):

    1. Click the Markers button and place a marker to highlight an area or anatomical feature.

    2. Optional: Edit the markers.

  5. Move to the image in the other viewport and repeat the tracing and detecting processes.

When you trace a tree that MicroDynamix software "recognizes" from a tracing in a different time point, it changes the tracing color to match the color of the structure traced earlier. If MicroDynamix doesn't recognize the tree, you might need to adjust the image alignment.
