User profiles

Purpose

The User Profile functionality enables multiple users and groups to work with the software using customized settings and preferences.

If there is more than one User Profile configured, you must select a profile or create a new one before you can start using Neurolucida.

User Profile is not a login or validation feature.

Background

Lab managers can use User Profile to create, change, or remove user profiles. Each user profile is unique, but profiles can have the same program settings. For example, administrators can configure profiles with lenses, cameras, and other equipment used in their labs.

Profiles contain the following user information:

  • Neurolucida.ini file: Information the program needs to operate, including the settings and preferences you use.

  • Neurolucida.len file: Lens and software lens information and settings.

  • Neurolucida.UI: Information on which dockable windows are displayed and where they are placed.

  • Any configuration and data backup files.

If you are upgrading from an earlier release, you can use your existing Neurolucida.ini and Neurolucida.len files.
