Calibration—Stage Movement

Evaluating stage movement (distance and direction) is part of the troubleshooting procedure for system calibration.

Stage movement testing is only done at one magnification.

  1. Optional: To make calibration easier, make sure that all movements are contained within the field of view on the screen.
    1. Use the Options>General Preferences>Movement tab.
    2. Under Field Movement Size, set % of Screen Size to 25% .
    3. Click OK when finished.
  2. Bring a corner of the slide grid into the center of the screen.
  3. Draw a closed contour in the corner grid square as a reference tracing.
  4. Test the stage movement: Use the arrows to test each direction and verify that the contour and the grid move in the same direction and remain aligned.

If the movements are off or if you need additional assistance for any part of the setup procedure, contact MBF Support.
