Associate Binning with a Software Lens

Purpose

For convenience and repeatability, we recommend that you associate pixel-binning with software lenses in BrightSLICE software. This procedure walks you through the process of configuring software lens associations with binning modes.

Procedure

  1. Open BrightSLICE software.

  2. Go to: File > Hardware Setup > Microscope > SLICE.

  3. Click Associate Binning to Lens to enable software lens association with the pixel-binning camera setting.

The Match Binning with Lens for Camera dialog box opens.

  4. Click on each binning level, then click Edit.

    1. The Objective Name and Lens dialog opens. The Objective name shown in the dialog corresponds to the binning level you selected.

    2. Click the Lens for objective dropdown menu and select the following lens name, depending on the binning level to assign pixel binning levels to software lens:

Objective name/Binning level Lens for objective
      1 10x/0.28 (V)
      2 10x/0.28 2x2 Bin (V)
      3 10x/0.28 3x3 Bin (V)
    3. Click OK to complete each lens assignment.

Continue assigning all three software lenses to pixel binning levels 1, 2, and 3.

  5. Click OK on the Match Binning with Lens for Camera dialog box to save your lens assignments and close the dialog.

  6. Click OK again to save your work and exit the Hardware Setup menu.
