QuickCodes (Administrators only)

A QuickCode is a substitute for the login information (server's URL, username, password) usually required to connect to a server. It is recommended for shared user accounts such as student accounts.

You can sort QuickCodes by header - username, server address, expiration date.

Creating QuickCodes

  1. In the Admin menu, select QuickCodes.
  2. Under QuickCodes, click the Add Connection button.
  3. In the Add System Connection window, select a user account that corresponds to a shared-use account.
    • If you see a warning alerting you that the user account selected can be edited (specifically, anyone using that account can change the password), make sure you modify the account to prevent users from editing the account.
    • Preventing users from editing the account:

      1. In the Admin menu, select Users.
      2. In the User Management panel, click the name of the user account in the list.
      3. In the User Information window, scroll down to User can edit account and select No.
      4. Click the Update button.
  4. A QuickCode is generated. Copy and share the QuickCode via email with the users associated with the shared use account.
