SPARC Blackfynn platform

This is relevant only for SPARC researchers.

You can connect directly to the Blackfynn platform to upload and download data (if you have an internet connection).

Connecting to the Blackfynn Platform

To connect, click the Access Blackfynn button in the Trace ribbon bar and log in using your Blackfynn login information.

The speed and quality of your internet connection will influence how quickly/slowly you can navigate the datasets in the Blackfynn data platform.

Downloading

  • To download a single file, navigate to the dataset and folder of interest, then click the name of the file. Choose where you want to save the file and adjust the file name if desired. Click Save to complete the download.
  • To download all the files from a folder, navigate to the dataset of interest, click the name of the folder to view all the files located in the folder, click the Download all button , and save the files in your preferred location.

Uploading

Uploading after initial setup is complete

You can upload folders only, not individual files.

Do NOT include spaces in your folder names; uploading will fail if folder names include spaces.

  1. If necessary, create datasets and folders for your data in Blackfynn according to the appropriate SPARC Dataset structure (you cannot create datasets or folders in the Neurolucida 360 Blackfynn interface).
  2. In Neurolucida 360 software, click the Access Blackfynn button in the Trace ribbon bar and log in using your Blackfynn login information.
  3. In the Blackfynn Access window, click to open the appropriate dataset and select the folder for your upload. Then click the Upload button.
