Video capture overview
You can capture an image sequence (i.e., a video) live with an attached video camera, and record stimuli applied manually or automatically.
You can also navigate the video while recording:
- Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
- Use the mouse button or the scroll bar to pan.
If you plan on using a laptop running Microsoft Windows to interface with a FireWire camera, contact MBF Support before starting. Most laptops cannot supply power to the camera over the 4-pin IEEE-1394 port. You will need a special cable with a pig-tail power plug connected to an AC/DC supply. Not all laptop FireWire ports will work will all IIDC-compliant cameras.

The interface specification is known as IIDC (Instrumentation & Industrial Digital Camera) or DCAM and is implemented by over 1,400 camera models. WormLab also supports high-performance USB3 Vision cameras (see our website for a list of supported cameras).
