Colocalize markers

With this function, you can combine two, three, or four markers into one marker for colocalization analyses.

Procedure

  1. Place the regular markers.
  2. In the Trace ribbon, from the Tools drop-down menu, select Colocalize markers.
  3. In the Colocalize markers window:
    1. Select the existing markers that represent colocalization when combined.
    2. Select a new marker to represent colocalization.
    3. Set the colocalization distance using the cursor size or by measuring the distance between markers
    4. Identify the colocalization markers: Click Manually select or Find all.
    5. Click OK.

Settings

Manually select: Click a group of markers to place a colocalization marker.

Find all: The program automatically places the colocalization markers.

Delete marker combination when placing a colocalization marker: If you don't select this option, the colocalization marker is displayed along with the group of combination markers.

Apply colocalization markers to all sections: If you don't select this option, the colocalization markers are only applied to the current section. Only applies when you use the Find All button.

Colocalization distance determined by:

  • Circular cursor size: Place the cursor over a group of markers to be combined and scroll the mouse wheel so that the cursor's circle includes all the markers.
  • Custom distance: Click the Measure button then place the cursor on the edge of a group of markers; click once, drag the mouse to draw a line to include all markers then click again to end the line. The measurement will be used as the distance.
