Stereo Investigator New Features Version 10
NEW FOR 2011
- Create 3D mosaics from image stacks from confocal, brightfield, and fluorescent microscopes. Automatically or manually combine multiple image stacks to create a single composite image for analysis.
- New support for confocal microscopes:
- Our new Open Confocal technology integrates with most major confocal microscopes to perform unbiased stereology. Acquire and analyze 3D images with Zeiss, Olympus, Nikon, and Leica laser scanning confocal microscopes.
- Our new High Level Confocal technology fully integrates with Zeiss LSM confocal laser scanning microscopes running Zen software, so you can have the most advanced and streamlined confocal stereology solution available.
- Allows easy creation of 3D montages of images and image stacks from virtually any confocal microscope.
- Full integration with the Zeiss ApoTome for confocal structured illumination. The leading cost-effective system for performing multichannel stereology.
- Stereo Investigator can now create focusable 3D virtual slides.
- Stereo Investigator now includes 3D visualization/solid modeling. Previously offered as an extension module.
- Fully integrated image deconvolution using the renowned Huygens technology increases image clarity for more effective analysis.
- Full 64-bit support for Zeiss Axiolmager, AxioCam and ApoTome; Olympus BX52 & BX-61 controllers (IX2/BX2 UCB & DSU); and Nikon 90i microscopes. Allows you to use the most sophisticated microscope automation for acquiring the largest images.
- Improved analysis (including Physical Fractionator, Cavalieri, etc.) of virtual slides from all major virtual slide scanner vendors.
- Improved Physical Fractionator with EM images.
- Automatic object detection on full virtual slides now applies to regions, cells, and markers.
NEW HARDWARE AND FILE SUPPORT
- Full support for dual camera systems. Consistent image orientation for easier use of multi-camera systems, including QImaging, Hamamatsu, and Zeiss AxioCam cameras.
- Support for cameras using the DCAM interface protocol.
- Support for multimodal image acquisition. Allows you to create images, image stacks and virtual slides using a combination of fluorescent, confocal, darkfield and brightfield channels.
- Support for the Sutter Lambda, EXFO X-Cite 120PC, and Exacte Fluorescence Illumination Systems.
- Stereo Investigator now reads Olympus OIB/OIF files.
- Enhanced support for the Nikon IDS/ICS format.
- Improved support for reading and writing XML files
BETTER PRODUCTIVITY AND EASE OF USE
We’ve incorporated dozens of suggestions from users around the world to make Stereo Investigator v10 the fastest, most accurate, and easiest to use stereology solution in the world.
- Easily crop image stacks to reduce file size.
- Improved image, including selection and adjustment of multiple images. Easier and quicker operation, processing hundreds of images simultaneously.
- Select and adjust multiple objects. Selectively brighten images in a particular area or optimize images from a previously dark image acquire.
- Individually optimize the white and black point of each image in a stack to compensate for photobleaching and light attenuation.
- New tools for managing differential brightness across sections when acquiring images and image stacks.
- Use the macro view to select your image in the Image Organizer.
- Improved 3D visualization.
- Use six times fewer mouse clicks while painting in Cavalieri mode or using Nucleator.
- Dynamic visualization of SRS image stacks in 3D.
- Improved user profile capabilities to allow full customization for multiple users of the microscope system. Core facility and lab administrators can save hardware and device command sequences, and there is more flexibility for creating multi-user configurations.
- More detailed reporting on the Nucleator probe.
- Easily extract multiple serial sections from a single virtual slide image.
- Export Spaceballs results and analyses directly into Excel.
- Improved image stack loading performance for offline stereological analysis.
- Added glycerin as an immersion medium to the scaling and lens-related dialogs.
- New screenshot tool to capture detailed images. Easier to obtain images for publication
