Stereological Techniques for Area and Volume Estimation

ABSTRACT:
In this practical demonstration, Dr. Susan Hendricks uses Neurolucida 9 to demonstrate manual neuron reconstruction techniques on Golgi-stained tissue sections. Dr. Hendricks will show you how to apply the different methods Neurolucida 9 uses to display your data, including macro view, orthogonal view, and various display settings to improve your accuracy and efficiency. We’ll also look at using Neurolucida Explorer to export data and perform data analysis.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
This presentation will demonstrate how to use Stereo Investigator to estimate area and volume of regions of interest from histological sections, images, and contours.
